For the past two years the wall space in our bathroom has been completely bare. Yes there are two mirrors above the sinks on our vanity but that's it. No pictures, just a blank, completely boring wall the rest of the way down. So I decided to make a few pieces of art to go there.
I basically took old art that had been my mom's when she was little, painted around the edges with some acrylic paint, and then mod podged scrap book paper over the top of them.

I love them. They're simple, yet they give our bathroom a cute feminine touch without over doing it.
And the middle piece is my chalkboard. I took a simple framed picture from my little sister's old nursery decor that my mom was throwing out, painted over the glass with chalkboard paint, and painted right over the frame with Rust-oleum's Heirloom White. I then wrote love using one of my chalk pens.
I love art that you can easily create yourself don't you?

Beautiful transformation! Love the chalkboard idea too!
I absolutely love these! I WILL be looking for these at yard sales, with the potential to redo them! They'd be perfect for a nursery ...hum! maybe soon we'll need one! thanks for the wonderful idea!
