Homemade Facial Tutorial: Using Egg Yolk

Okay so let me start off with this warning: This facial is a little messy, and my egg yolk covered face is more than a little comical.  Enjoy looking at my enlarged pores, and blemish filled face, knowing full well that your skin is probably way better than mine.

You see that red blemish in between my eyes? Yeah, Rian attacked my face with her sharp-as-knives baby nails.  It's amazing how pale the flash makes my face look!?!

Step 1- gather your supplies. 1 egg, a small bowl, a spoon or fork, a wash cloth, and a towel.

Step 2- crack open that egg and separate the egg white from the egg yolk. We'll be using the egg yolk only.  Maybe you can save the egg white for breakfast? I don't know, I'm wasteful and threw mine in the trash.

Step 3- use warm/hot water to rinse your face off.  The warm water allows your pores to open up.  It's a good thing, I promise.

Step 4- stir up the egg yolk, then apply to your face.  All over, just like you would any other mask.  And don't say I didn't warn you about the messiness of it.

Step 5- for the next 10-15 minutes go watch TV, tweet to all your friends, blog hop...basically anything that will not require talking or lots of facial movement, okay?  The egg yolk is going to dry and then feel tight on your face.  This means it's working.

It's dry, and is cracking since I am smiling for y'all.

Step 6- has it really been 15 minutes?  Dang that went fast.  Now you're going to use your wash cloth and warm/hot water to rinse/wash the egg yolk off of your face.  Make sure you get it all, you don't want to see dried/hardened yellow yolk in your hair or an your face the next day. Trust me, it's not pretty.

Step 7- Pat your face dry with your clean towel and admire how smooth your skin feels. And gosh darn it if it doesn't look brighter, cleaner, fresher.

Step 8- Come back here and thank me for sharing the secret of the best egg yolk facial you've ever had!

Well, what are you waiting for, go get crackin'. Haha. You know that was funny and lame.

I've put egg in my hair before, but never on my face. I am kind of scared to do it, but what a cheap and easy facial!

That is clever! But I don't think I can handle the smell from the egg yolk.
