Glitter Painted Christmas Ornaments

Don’t you just love the shimmer of glittery ornaments at Christmas time? I do! Yesterday while I had my Martha Stewart paints and brushes out I decided to do a glitzy makeover on a few Christmas ornaments I had saved (okay, hoarded) from last year.

First thing I did was cut the twine off of them and pour my paint into a little ceramic bowl.

I painted 3 coats of each color on my ornaments using a small brush. Just 3 quick, light coats on both sides.

After the silver and gold paint had dried, I then added a few layers of glitter paint. I tried two different methods of painting it on.  With one I used a foam brush and dabbed the glitter paint on in layers, and the other I used a brush and painted it on.

Both ways worked great, and gave good coverage.

Now my cute birds will go perfectly with our tree decorations.

Glitter makes EVERYTHING better! I think we should be able to dip ourselves in a semi-permanent Christmas bling dip so we can all sparkle for the season! Lovely work! Hope your having a wonderful week!

so cute! I never even cared about glitter until Martha's glitter paint. Now I'm a glitter fool!

Did you get the Glitter Effect? I'm gonna try it tomorrow. Not sure what it does yet.

Thanks so much for dropping by my MS project :D
