I told you guys a few weeks ago how I was trying to incorporate more sweet potatoes into our meals, and I wanted to share my recipe with you for homemade Savory Sweet Potato Fries. These are super easy to make, taste delicious, and sweet potatoes are good for you!
I might be strange but I like my sweet potato fries savory, instead of sweet. And there’s no better way to achieve a savory flavor to them, than adding BACON.
SAVORY SWEET POTATO FRIES
INGREDIENTS
2-3 Sweet Potatoes cut into thin fries, or thin round discs
2—3 slices of cooked and crumbled bacon
1-2 teaspoons of thyme
1-2 teaspoons of kosher salt/sea salt
1-2 tablespoons coconut oil or olive oil
DIRECTIONS
Preheat your oven to 420 degrees and line a baking sheet/pan with foil or parchment paper.
You can cut your sweet potatoes into fries, or round discs. Then toss them in a large bowl with the coconut oil/olive oil. Make sure to heat the coconut oil up so that it is in a liquid state before coating the sweet potatoes with it.
Place the sweet potatoes on the baking pan and spread them out in a thin layer.
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, thyme, and salt onto the sweet potatoes.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the fries look done.
The fries go great with a garlic mayo or an aioli type of dipping sauce. A perfect way to enjoy your savory fries….
So do you like Sweet Potato Fries? Have you ever tried them with bacon and thyme? Or do you like your sweet potato fries sweet?

These look so yummy! I have tasted sweet potato fires couple of times - loving loving! I have never done these by myself, maybe I should try with your instructions.
Ah, yum! Apparently very good for your eyesight they are? Which I need after staring at my laptop screen for as long as I do! Thanks for this!
