Remember a couple weeks ago when I got my second tattoo and I said I was making a list of things I wanted to do, my pseudo bucket list? Well, one of those really was dying my hair a silly color. But I know I could never pull off doing my whole entire head of hair, so I just did some pieces near the ends. And I did it using one of the Tulip Tie-Dye Kits.
My friend Alexa from Swell Designer and Font Crafts, posted about how her friend Kathy from The Crafty Chica used the dye from the Tulip Tie-Dye kits to create some cute rainbow hair extensions. Kathy even posted a video tutorial for the rainbow hair extensions on her blog.
So after chatting with Alexa, I decided I was going to try the tie-dye on my actual hair. The worst thing would be that it didn’t work and I’d have to dye over it or get a hair cut, right? Hehehe. But it worked, and it was super easy.
I mixed the red dye from the kit with some of the violet dye, and then filled the bottle to the line with water. Then I took a few strands of hair on each side of my head and and then wrapped the pieces in foil so the dye wouldn’t run or get anywhere else. I only left it in for about 10-15 minutes. Then I took a shower and washed my hair. The dye did an awesome job and now I get to cross one more thing off my list.
