Friday Fluff: My current girl crush. Come on, you know you all have them…

Yep, that’s right, I’ve got a new girl crush. And even though I say girl crush, it’s not like I have romantic feelings for these gals. Nope I just mean girl crush as in I want to be besties with these gals, share some gossip, lunch, or their stylist.

In the past some of my girl crushes have been:

Sandra Bullock

Zooey Deschanel

Rachel Bilson

And while I still love these ladies, and think that Rachel Bilson is quite possibly the cutest thing on TV right now (Hart of Dixie anyone?), I have added a new gal that I’d love to be pals with.

Jennifer Lawrence
While she was awesome as Katniss in the Hunger Games, I think her interviews and her real life persona have pulled me in, and made me think she’d be one awesome, and funny friend to hang out with.  Doesn’t hurt that she’s got hair and style anyone would be lucky to have, right?

I currently have pictures saved on my phone for when I go into get my hair done soon, because I want to add some deep brown auburn touches to my hair, similar to this color Jennifer has going on in the pic below.

So who’s your current girl crush?  Have a list like I do? Or maybe you just want to share your man crush instead. ;)  (The hubs knows mine has pretty much been Ryan Reynolds since I was around 15, and I know his current one is Kate Mara (from House of Cards). I am making a point not to watch her in that show now that I know that. Hahaha, just kidding.

Hope you all have a great Friday! Don’t forget, you can always catch me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram (@alwaysnwonder)….

Weekend Update on our trip down south…

Yesterday we had Justin's appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon he was referred to.  For the past few years  he has struggled with severe pain in his hip and other joints and I’ve been pushing for him to have surgery for quite awhile. It wasn’t till this past October that he finally decided the pain was bad enough that he was ready to go through with surgery.  So he decided on doing hip resurfacing.  His orthopedic surgeon here referred him out to another surgeon down in Torrance, California, and it’s taken months to get his consultation appointment with him scheduled.

After talking to the surgeon yesterday it looks like his hip surgery won't take place for a few months because of the doctors busy schedule. And he wants Justin to see a Rheumatologist here where we live, to do a full work up on him since there is severe arthritis in his hip, and yesterday's x-rays showed problems in his neck and lower spine.  He also mentioned they'd be testing for a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis.  Looking it up on Dr. Google didn't do anything good for my nerves.

I know it’s much worse for him to be going through this, but it’s stressful for me to think about anything happening to him or him getting worse, because I have no clue what I would do without him.  So lots of prayer and good thoughts being sent our way would be much appreciated!
And this post wouldn’t be complete without x-ray pics and funny paper shorts… my hubs is a good sport, right?

X-ray of his neck... was told it's way too straight and he's already lost joint space there and in his lower sacroiliac joints...

Living room Sneak Peak #1- Making a photo wall

Well our living room has been painted for a while now, and I am slowly starting the redecorating process. The walls in our living room were pretty much blank with nothing on them, and I knew that during our living room makeover I wanted to create a photo wall to hold lots of family photos. I’m still working on the photo wall right now, but here’s a sneak peak of how it’s coming along.
Photo wall in living room
Now I just need to find a few more frames and fill them up with lots of pictures…

How do you fill the wall space in your home? Are you a fan of photo walls? Or maybe you prefer big pieces of art, or mirrors, or a combination of all three?

I’d love to see how you decorate your walls, want to share a picture or a link to your own living room post?  Feel free to email me (alwaysinwonder @ gmail . com) or share with me on Twitter or Facebook.

Took a break (had a case of SADS), but now I’m back

Sorry I left you guys with no warning, no goodbye. It seems like every winter, mostly in January I get a case of SADS. Maybe you call them the winter blues?  But yep, every winter I get a little depressed, feel like holing up in our house and never leaving. This year was no exception.  Right around the first week in December my Grandma had a stroke, and for a little while I just focused on her and work and the kids.  She got better, and I kept focusing on work, and the kids, but kind of up and left my blog all alone, much like miners who deserted boom towns… you might have seen tumbleweeds blowing around and saloon doors swinging in the breeze…

But I’m done with my break, and my little bought of feeling depressed, and I hope you guys didn’t miss me too much.  I’m going to start back posting regularly and filling you in on what’s happening in my little corner of the world.

Oh, and I’ve decided to start exercising (yes, again). I have a love hate relationship with exercise… mostly I hate it. But no pain no gain, right? Or in my case, no pain no loss!

park day

So today I pepped talked myself into leaving the house wearing yoga pants, running shoes, and a hoodie and took the kids to the park, and then walked a nearby trail for 2 miles.

Park day (2)

The first mile I was thinking, “Yeah, you can do this! You rock. Keep it up missy.”  The second mile I was thinking, “Ugh, where the frack is the car.” And “Why did you walk so far in the first place?”  But I did it. 2 miles. Once that wouldn’t have been such a big accomplishment, but now it means a lot. A lot of work and talking myself into maintaining my goals and working hard are going to be needed to keep up any kind of exercise regimen.   I just hope I can keep talking myself into daily walks, and eventually jogs, then runs.

While I keep talking myself into daily exercise, do you guys have any favorite tips, or apps to help me?  How do you stay motivated to work out?  Anyone got a favorite workout program?  If you feel like sharing you can email me (alwaysinwonder at gmail dot com) , or share with me on Twitter or Facebook
